I started using the Comfy salve while I was pregnant with my second little. I was having some bad cramping and constipation. I would rub it on my lower abdomen and it helped with the both issues I was having. It was astonishing. I used it throughout my pregnancy. Once my little one was born I discovered that it was the only thing that made my poor nipples feel better after nursing.
One got so bad it was bleeding, and this salve cured it right on up. Seriously. It was unbelievable. Now I am finding that it also works great on diaper rash. Practically erasing it after application from one diaper change to the next. I really feel that this salve is a new mom's best friend.

In case you're concerned about the pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) the plant contains, rest assured, our salve is made from dried, mature leaves. PAs are at their highest concentration in fresh, young leaves. Toxicity typically occurs when ingested, though several people still consume comfrey medicinally. As the leaves mature and are dried, the PAs are weakened considerably and not considered an issue when applied topically. PAs are in many things such as honey, tea, spices, grains, and animal products like meat, milk, and eggs. Comfrey leaves also contain allantoin, which is known to stimulate the regeneration of connective tissue, bone, and cartilage.
Our Comfy salve is made from mature, dried comfrey leaves and other dried herbs, grown on land without pesticides for at least the last 20 years. As always, we invite you to do your own research to assist you in making the right choices for your health.
This product does not contain any preservatives. If kept away from sun and heat, it should be good for up to a year. After that, the effects will lessen but it can still be used until the oil is rancid.
